LAST RACE Interview

Cyrill Scheiwiller hat in Payerne sein letztes Rennen in der Schweizermeisterschaft bestritten und nach dem 2. Lauf sprichwörtlich seinen Helm an den Nagel gehängt. Wir haben ihn zu seiner Entscheidung in Payerne befragt.

Min sturz im 2017, woni min underarm broche han, hani irgendwie nie richtig chönne verdaue. Han alles undernoh zum wieder so chönne fahre wie vorher, hans aber niemeh richtig gschafft im chopf obe de alti zwerde. Han immer en kampf mit minere psyche gha. Es isch vo johr zu johr besser worde, aber nöd ganz weg. Endi 2019 bini churz devor gsi zum ufhöre, han denn aber nomel en alauf gno mit KTM. De wechsel hed mir sehr guet do. Ab denn hani wieder richtig freud übercho bim fahre und bin au so schnell gsi wie nie vorher. Leider bini i dem johr mitem druck nöd ganz zschlag cho und han dmeisterschaft, woni sganze johr agführt han, nöd is trochne brocht. Das johr hani nomel en alauf versuecht, han aber scho bald gmerkt, dassi müeh han mit mim rechte handglenk en rennlauf dure zfahre, ohni dass di ganzi hand ischloft. Zudem hed au snötige rennglück nochli gfählt und ich han schnell gmerkt, dass es a minere motivation gnaget. Darum hani mi entschiede das payerne mis letschte renne ii de schwiizermeisterschaft wird sii. Ich werde nomel mis beste gä und villicht chani det ja no es guets Resultat usefahre.

Ich bedanke mich bi allne sponsore, mechaniker, teams, helfer und fründe wo mich mini ganzi karriere dure begleitet händ. Sehr e schöni ziit gsi! Und vorallem a KTM, Destimoto und Motorex für die beide letschte johr. Das hetti bereut, wenni im 19 ghört hetti!

Ich freue mich uf das wo nachher chunnt und vorallem meh ziit für mich, mini familie und fründe z ha!

In 2017 i had a crash and broke my forearm. I never really got over this. I tried a lot of things to recover my mind and get over the crash, but i have not found a solution to ride the bike the same way as before. The struggle in my head was always present. It got better and better during the years, but i wasn't fully recovered. At the end of 2019 i thought of ending my career, but decided to give it a chance again and make a new start with KTM. This was the right choice and a good decision for my mental stability. I had much fun in riding and i have never been faster than these years. However i was not able to handle the pressure and did not win the championship i led during the whole season. This year i started a new attempt but i had a lot of problems with my right hand during the first races. It started to tingle after 15 min and i was not able to use my whole streght and show my best performance. Further the luck was not really on my side. This led to motivational problems. That's why i decided to end my career after payerne. I will try to present my best at payerne and i hope that i can show a good race at least once this year. I want to say a huge thank you to all my sponsors, mechanics, teams, helpers and friends who were by my side during my whole career. It was a great time! A special thanks goes to KTM, Destimoto and Motorex for the last two years. I would have regretted, if i had stopped in 2019!

I am looking forward for the time after racing and especially for more time for my self, my family and friends!
